Meet the kids who love protecting nature!

Trash: we all learn where it goes and how it affects the environment. But for many children in the Hulu Sungai region of Borneo, this isn’t just useful knowledge, it’s life-changing.

Thanks to you, school-aged kids are now learning how to care for the environment, protect nature, and understand why healthy forests and wildlife matter to their future.

Our Environmental Education Program brings these lessons to life through fun, hands-on activities. Children draw, read, plant vegetables, sort waste, and even create crafts from recycled materials. The classes are lively, exciting, and already making a big difference in their communities.

Kids are cleaning up their villages. They’re protecting nearby forests. And they’re learning to care for endangered wildlife. These students are becoming true agents of change, helping shift attitudes in their families and villages toward protecting nature.

Here’s how your support is already making a difference:

  • Children are understanding why protecting the environment matters, and how their choices affect nature.
  • They are building new, daily habits, like properly disposing of their waste and using less plastic.
  • Plus they’re learning new skills, like turning waste into useful craft items.

And the best part? The kids are loving it.

“My favourite activity is picking up trash because it makes our environment clean,” says young Jesin.

Chila adds, “The activities taught me how to manage waste properly and helped me recognise protected animals.”

These are huge steps forward. Especially when kids love picking up trash!

Their teachers are seeing the change too. Mrs. Rosita, a school principal, shared: “We are very grateful for the Environmental Education Program. The children’s attitudes have changed. They used to litter and make a mess at school, but that has gradually stopped. Now, they no longer throw garbage into the river and even use waste materials to make toys.”

Because of you, this program is creating real, lasting impact. You’re helping to inspire environmental awareness, practical skills, confidence, and strong values in the next generation.

Thank you. You’re giving these children and their communities the knowledge they need to protect their land, forests, and wildlife. You’re helping raise young leaders who are determined to care for the world around them.

Thank you for educating, inspiring, and igniting a new generation of nature protectors!
